The mythical first edition of the only book published by the father of Jorge Luis Borges. The importance of Jorge Guillermo Borges was determinative in the life and work of his son. Above all, the latter inherited a literary career from his father. Jorge Guillermo was, in reality, a failed writer. He only published this book, El Caudillo in Mallorca and, according to J. L. Borges, it is adorned with some radical Ultraista metafors that were included in the work by his father's request. Borges remembers his father on numerous occasions, for example in the book Atlas and in La moneda de hierro he dedicates a poem “to my father”.
