Only a few thousand were published, this is a second impression. The first impression sells for around £25,000 with it's original dust jacket. Serious collectors will know that just to see this for sale is a very rare opportunity. the BOOK Is beautiful, Not an ex library or book club edition, its an original second impression, of a first edition. It's without inscriptions, scribbles or bookseller evidence. The boards are in good condition with little wear which is completely normal for this book, there is a tiny (1/4 inch) tear at the top of the spine. The pages are very nice although there is a small (1/2 inch) tear on page 215. Overall the pages really nice and clean and you will be very happy when you see it. I have listed even the smallest of flaws so you know what you are getting. Adding to the value the book is also signed by Kenneth Lewis, the artist who executed the dust jacket which was designed by Fleming. The inscription says "Kenneth Lewis, Artist to the author, 005" The verso page states FIRST PRINTED 1953 SECOND IMPRESSION - exactly what it should. the DUST JACKET Designed by Ian Fleming and executed by Kenneth Lewis. As serious collectors will know, this is where the real value of this book lies. Very limited quantities of these books remain, and only a small percentage will retain their original dust jackets. It is NOT price-clipped, clearly showing 10s.6d.net as called for. The photographs show that it carries very slight wear and is in NEAR FINE condition. There is a very small tear about 1.5cm at the spine of the jacket.
