The materials I listed here and an outline bought off eBay are the only materials I used for both the July ’08 NJ and NY bars and I passed both on my first try!  I paid over $4,000 for all these items so you are definitely getting a bargain.  If you decide not to buy the books and take a bar course, I definitely recommend Pieper bar review.  To get familiar with the bar exams, skim through Riebe’s pass the bar book. For NY essays, Pieper books were essential and use the sample essays with sample answers (3 essays included). For MBE, use the PMBR multistate workbooks volume I and II and PMBR flashcards.  I didn't take the PMBR course and I was fine.For NJ essays, use Pieper materials and one of the Pieper books have a section where it distinguishes NY and MBE law. If you plan on only using the materials sold in this auction, I suggest you buy a Pieper outline which is cheap on eBay but there is also an outline book which is being sold at this auction.  The following books are up for auction:  Passing the bar by Denise Riebe.Condition:  Very good.  No writing. This book is excellent for familiarizing yourself with the bar exams.  It lists what you should do to prepare, checklists, timelines, sample questions and more.PMBR multistate workbooks volume I (red book) and II (blue book).Copyright date:  Oct. 2007.  When I took the July '08 bar, this was the latest edition.  I am not sure whether a new edition has been published. Red book (volume I) - multiple choice questions and answers and explanations.  Condition:  Good.  The cover and corners of the pages are bent.  Flipped through couple of times and saw marks on only 2 pages.Blue book (volume II) - multiple choice questions and answers and explanations.Condition:  Good.  The cover and bindings are fine.  Explanations are highlighted and couple of the sections are marked with answers and underlines.  Pieper books (5 in total)Copyright date:  '06 - '07.  These books were given for my bar course for this July '08 bar exams by Pieper bar review.Multistate Exam Book:  Like the PMBR books, it has multiple choice questions and answers and explanations.  Condition:  New.  Flipped through couple times and saw no writing. New York Appellate Alert:  If you are confused with a section of your outline, look up the case law in this book.  Condition:  New.  Multistate Law Outlines:   Use for NJ and MBE. Condition:  New.  New York Exam Book:  The book I used the most.  Has daily quizzes, practice essays, 4 exams, past NY bar exams, simulated practice bar exams and mnemonics for memorization and answers and explanations.  Condition:  Like new.  No marks.New York Law Outlines:  NY outlines and the best part of this book is that there is a section where NY law is distinguished from MBE law.  This is especially important for those taking NJ and it is also helpful for the MBE. Condition:  Very good.  There are no marks but there is a stain on the side outer edges because I spilled coffee but it didn't wrinkle any of the pages and there are no marks inside the book.  3 Sample Essays and answers to the essaysCondition:  New.  Barbri New York Civil Practice Outline:  I heard that Barbri has a great outline for NYCP so I am also including this in the set.  Condition:  It was ripped out of the Barbri's big book of outlines.PMBR flashcards:   These are okay to flip through when you're somewhere where you can't lug your books around.  I personally read these when I was in the car, waiting at the doctor's office and in the kitchen when I cooked, etc. Condition:  Good.  No writing but I might be missing some cards.  It can't be that many because I do have 7 rings of cards for each MBE subjects.  Copyright date:  I don't remember.  It is probably from 2007. Final note:  I found these materials and an outline are more than enough materials to study for both the NJ and NY bars.  I would think the same for the Feb.
