Contains the famous World Map showing the World split in two, Europa and the balancing Antipodes. The map stands alone as one of the earliest representations of the World, in this edition with a breathtaking large size. The author was a 5th century Neoplatonist. The work swiftly became a popular guide to science, featuring lengthy excursions on Pythagorean number lore, cosmography, world geography and the harmony of the spheres. There are many editions of this work, this is probably the most atrctive for it´s size and beauty, the size of the World map is unrivalized by any other. Provenance, hand written ex libris on title page "Ex libris Dominici Juanci a Porta Septebriensis".   In-folio (305mm x 208mm). Half brown morocco in period style. 1 + iv + cv.
