KEW GARDENS With Woodcuts by Vanessa Bell, Richmond, Hogarth Press, in original blue/rust/yellow “wallpaper” wrappers which have been professionally restored and laid onto stiff card covers (approximately 85% of original wrappers extant as loss is mainly around edges), covers are bowed slightly, 16 pp., TWO WOODCUTS BY VANESSA BELL (one full page at front and one smaller tailpiece), woodcuts are illustrated in Bradshaw, SECOND EDITION, June, 1919, Woolmer 7, Kirkpatrick A3b, one of 500 copies printed by Madley after the 170 handprinted copies of the May, 1919 first edition, original cover label intact (black lettering on cream paper); endpapers added in restoration, text is VG+ and very clean save for an area of dustiness along upper edge (but hardly noticeable); any copy of KEW GARDENS in 1919 is RARE and this is an opportunity to own the Bell art at an affordable price compared to the $45,000 price for the first edition; despite restoration this is a handsome and pleasing copy .
